Purpose of the Organization
Provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported
one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Our focus is on establishing strong and long lasting relationships between the child and the adult volunteer.
Volunteer Opportunities Available
> Become a ‘Big’ — Our Big Brothers and Big Sisters are asked for a minimum of a one-year commitment and to spend an average of one hour per week with the child. Flexibility is given for students out of the area over the summers.
> Community-Based Mentoring — The volunteer and the child set up their own meeting times and activities each week and participate in community activities such as going to the park, baking cookies, playing basketball.
> Site-Based Mentoring — The volunteer and the child meet at a set date and time each week, either at the child’s school or at the Boys & Girls Club. The child and volunteer can meet only at the specified site and participate in activities (games, crafts, read, play catch, etc.) at that site.
> Volunteer at special events.
> Join a committee (Big/Little events, Marketing, Bowl for Kids’ Sake).
> Volunteer at the office.
