Oil drilling excavations end in failure on the Eclipse, an offshore rig in the vast open sea. Headquarters gives the order to withdraw from Sector 7, but the crew conducts one last effort. While they are engaged in their final attempt they lose communication and are overwhelmed by the unsettling feeling that a living creature is out there, 8,000 feet under the sea. As the crew begins to disappear one by one, those who survive must think fast and fight for their lives in a non-stop battle against a mutant monster.
