In an old-fashioned adventure yarn from the imagination of Steven Spielberg, a band of small heroes plunges into a swashbuckling, surprise-around-every-corner quest. The Goonies, a bunch of young friends from a small northwest seaport town, follow a mysterious treasure map into a spectacular underground realm of twisting passages, booby traps and a long-lost pirate ship — one step ahead of a family of bumbling bad guys.
“It has crooks, bats, cobwebs, skeletons, a lovable monster, an underground grotto and a treasure hidden by some of the most considerate, clue-loving pirates who ever lived. Their ghostly ship is the movie’s piece de resistance” (The New York Times).
