A Peck on the Cheek

A Peck on the Cheek

Thursday–Sunday

February 9–12

Davies Theatre

6 + 8:30 pm

Amudha is a refugee child adopted by loving Indian parents, and growing up with the couple’s two sons. She is blissfully unaware of her parentage, until the couple decides to inform her of it on her ninth birthday. At first shocked into disbelief, Amudha then expresses her determination to find her biological mother. The search takes the family to Sri Lanka, ravaged by ongoing civil war, where the young girl comes face-to-face with reality and reconciles herself to it.

A Peck on the Cheek explores universal themes of displacement, struggle and family — themes that will register whether an audience is in San Francisco or somewhere in
Sri Lanka,” wrote the San Francisco Chronicle.
