Edward Bloom (Albert Finney) has always been a teller of tall tales about his oversized life when he was a young man (Ewan McGregor), when his wanderlust took him on an unlikely journey from small-town Alabama around the world. His mythic exploits range from the delightful to the delirious as he weaves epic tales about giants, blizzards, a witch and conjoined twins who are lounge singers. Bloom charms almost everyone he encounters, with the exception of his estranged son, Will (Billy Crudup). When his mother (Jessica Lange) tries to reunite them, Will must learn to separate fact from fiction and come to terms with his father's great feats and great failings. Tim Burton's affectionate fairytale (adapted for the screen by John August, from the novel by Daniel Wallace) costars Helena Bonham Carter, Alison Lohman, Marion Cotillard, Steve Buscemi and Danny DeVito.
