Excused Absences for Organization Functions
Occasionally, organizations may take trips that require members to miss class. Organizations may request an excused absence memo from their organization advisor to request that organization members can present to their instructors. Instructors are not required to excuse students from class, even with a memo request.
A sample excused absence memo is provided below.

Your consideration in granting these students excused absences and arranging for them to make up missed work would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to discuss with me any request this concern may raise. I may be reached at 555-5555 or doej@uwec.edu.
