Fantastic Planet Thursday-Sunday, November 12-15
Davies Theatre | 6pm & 8:30pm
Animation, philosophy and surrealism combine in this underground masterpiece about a futuristic planet where two races have evolved. The giant blue Draags are the ruling class, subjugating the primitive Oms, human-like beings who are kept as domesticated pets. The social order is disturbed when one of the Oms accidentally receives an education and encourages the others to demand equality. The allegory won the grand prize at the 1973 Cannes Film Festival.
