About SafeSpace Training:

This program is for faculty, staff, and students who are interested in making the university community safer by increasing awareness of LGBTQI (Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, and Intersex) issues and anti-gay bias. Upon completion, participants will be identified as having "Safe
Space" training and expected to be supportive and available to members of the university community who wish to discuss LGBTQIA issues and concerns.

The concept of Safe Space was developed by GLSEN – the Gay, Lesbian, & Straight Education Network. The Mission of GLSEN
strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.
