Tutor Training Schedule


Last Day of Tutoring & Exiting Files



The last day of tutoring is Friday, May 9th . Please talk with your tutees about this immediately so they can plan. If you feel a tutee needs your help beyond this date, talk with your supervisor.

Exit each tutee file as soon as you have met for the last time with him/her .

  • Remove items no longer relevant (worksheets, handouts) and return to the center for reuse. Keep records of correspondence and work completed by the student and background information, in addition to all tutoring forms.
  • Complete the Exit Summary section on the back of the yellow Initial Interview form.
  • Place the file in the Exited Student Files basket in the tutor workroom.

Exit all files by Friday, May 9th , 5:00 pm.

Evaluation of ASC Supervisors and Operations

Before the end of the semester, you will find this evaluation form in your tutoring slot or, for TT/SSD/SSS tutors, at the front desk. Please complete this form and return it to the clerical desk.

Paid End-of-Semester In-Service, complete with lunch and treats!

Please attend our final paid tutor meeting of the semester:

Monday, May 12th
Noon - 1:00 pm
Academic Skills Center

  • There are no final exams at this time, so plan on attending to put closure on the semester and prepare for next semester.
  • Review your tutor evaluations.
  • CRLA certificates will be distributed to qualified tutors.
  • If you cannot come, talk with your supervisor before this meeting.
  • Lunch and treats are provided! (Bring your own beverage.)

Tutoring in the Summer/Fall 2008

Check the tutor message board now and respond to the sign-up sheet under your area(s) of tutoring. Please respond even if you are graduating or otherwise not returning to tutor

No more training scheduled--check back in the fall.


All training sessions occur in the ASC (OL2112) unless noted otherwise.

The training sessions are PAID and count toward earning a CRLA Tutoring Certificate and pay raise. All tutors are encouraged to attend. If you cannot attend one or more sessions, please let your supervisor know.

These training sessions are provided to help tutors enhance their tutoring skills and make their tutoring sessions more successful. The training is part of the CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certified training program offered by the Academic Skills Center. Completion of the program will lead to a pay raise.
