Patti supervises tutoring programs for multicultural students, first-generation/low-income students, and students with disabilities. She also teaches the following developmental education courses:

Patti's articles, fiction, and poetry have appeared in The Journal of Developmental Education, Salon Magazine, The Wisconsin Academy Review, The Southwest Review, Women's Studies Quarterly, and other magazines and anthologies. She co-authored with Professor Bruce Taylor (English) Higher Learning: Reading and Writing About College, Prentice-Hall, 2nd edition, 2005.
