Art Lyons earned a B.A. in English and Education from UW-Eau Claire, an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction and English from UW-Madison, an M.A. in English from UW-Eau Claire, and an international TEFL certificate from Hamline University.

Art's other professional experiences include teaching high school English and coaching football, wrestling, track, and forensics in two Wisconsin high schools, and textbook editing for a small publisher in St. Paul, MN.
