Eleven UW-Eau Claire AMA members attended the 31st Annual International Collegiate Conference in March in New Orleans, LA. Competing against 146 universities across North America, the UW-Eau Claire AMA received an honorable mention in the Chapter Recruitment Video Competition and was also recognized as an Outstanding Chapter. Only eight of these awards were given out internationally to recognize outstanding performance in areas such as Professional Development, Membership Activities adn Recruitment, Internal and External Communications, Community Service, Fundraising, and Organizational Strategic Planning. It was a great accomplishment to receive this award especially because this past year was the first time in over a decade that the UW-Eau Claire AMA participated at the national level.
Advisor Scott Swanson stated “This is a truly extraordinary win for a chapter new to the competition. UW-EC AMA far outperformed the vast majority of universities from across North America. Being new to the competition there are still areas to improve on, and additional competitions to get involved with, but our chapter is well on their way to becoming a future Chapter of the Year winner. The leadership of President Rachel Roberts and Vice-President Jennifer Forsythe in accepting the challenge of becoming a national chapter, and putting together a successful strategic plan and reporting process, was instrumental in this accomplishment. All of the UW-EC AMA members should take great pride in this award.”
